น. ธรรม 5 ; ทำความดี 5 อย่าง โดยคู่กับเบญจศีล เป็นการเว้นความชั่ว 5 อย่าง กล่าวคือ เป็นธรรมสูงส่ง

n. five virtues ; doing five kinds of merit

กล่าวคือ 1.  ความเมตตากรุณาต่อสัตว์

 loving kindness

 เอื้อเฟื้อเผื่อแผ่ประกอบสัมมาชีพ

 charity and  right means of livelihood

 สำรวมในกาม

 sensual restraint or control

 พูดความจริง

 truthful speech , speak only the truth

 มีสติ

 mindfulness
